Fr. Joe’s Weekly Letter to Parishioners

June 17, 2018

This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day. We have a special blessing for all fathers as part of our final blessing at Mass today. In so many ways our fathers have helped us through significant moments in our life. Whether it was learning how to ride a bike, throw a baseball or maybe solve math problems, fathers have been there for us. It could also have been when a father danced with his daughter at a father-daughter dance or taught her how to drive a car. These and so many other small moments make up great moments in a child’s life and in the life of a father.

Today make sure your father knows how much you appreciate all that he has done for you.

This is also a call for all men to have an even deeper understanding of what it means to be a father and to take the time to focus on his children and his wife letting them know what they mean to him. Taking time is so important to allowing these relationships to grow, develop and mature.

It is only natural for us to see how this helps us to better understand the true meaning of God our Father and Creator. As we thank our earthly, natural father and those who have been father to us, let us take the time to adore, praise and worship our heavenly Father who loves us more than we can imagine.

May the words of the Lord’s Prayer resonate deeply in us today: Our Father….hallowed be thy name…give us this day…forgive us…as we forgive…deliver us from evil. Amen

Fr. Joe
