Dear Divine Mercy Parishioners,

Blessings to all as we begin to re-open the church for Sunday Mass.

Though we have celebrated Mass at a distance over the past few months, we are now planning for public weekend Masses beginning on Saturday, July 4th and Sunday, July 5th. Mass times will be Saturday 4:00 p.m., Sunday 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Please join us if you feel comfortable in coming.
Be assured that the church has been professionally cleaned and sanitized. We ask everyone to wear face masks except young children. There are hand sanitizers available. We encourage you to bring your own also. The church will be cleaned after every Mass. All Masses will be at St. Rita Church.
Since we are only permitted to have 100 people at each Mass, we will ask you to use this Sign-Up Genius form to register.

As we re-open for the weekends, there are some things you need to know. We will use the front entrance on Whitney Avenue and the side parking lot door near the elevator. We will not be using the Russell Street door. We have set up a temporary Reconciliation Room for confessions near that entrance. Greeters will be at the entrances assisting you. We ask that you follow the arrows and sit in designated pews.

We will not be passing baskets for Sunday collections. There will be collection boxes stationed at the entrances of the church. Envelopes and donations can be put there. We will empty boxes after each Mass.

Communion will be distributed from the center aisle, in the front near the sanctuary and at the break. Please sanitize your hands, come forward with your mask on, receive Communion in your hand, step to the side, lower your mask and place the host in your mouth, then proceed back to your pew. If you will be receiving Communion on your tongue, we ask that you wait until the end of the line.

We will need help in sanitizing the church after each Mass. If you can help, please call the office and leave us your name.

While some may not be comfortable in returning to church just yet, know that the Sunday Mass obligation has been lifted until September 6th.

There are many things for us to get used to. Trusting in the Lord Jesus, using common sense and the help of one another, we will be able to meet these challenges.

I am eager to welcome you back to church when you feel comfortable in coming. Jesus, I trust in you.

Sincerely,
Msgr. Joseph V. DiSciacca
